Christian of Pilgrim's Progress starts out on his journey from the "City of Destruction" ("this world"), to the "Celestial City" (heaven)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. “  1 Peter 1:3-5

Yes,  the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the Reason for our Hope.  Do you have that hope today?  The hope of heaven.  Listen as our pastor shares the first of several messages on Heaven.

Comfort from God in these times. – God has comfort but it requires that we come into understanding – Today there is a lack of understanding.

1.  We have to come to the knowledge of our real place in God
 God has dynamic victory, plans and results for our lives

2.  We need to come to the knowledge of God’s power.
 Acts 1:8 – God has that power for us but we must come to that knowledge.
 Eph 3:20 – God is able… according to that power that works within us.
 get beyond your own needs – find someone that has your need and pray for them.

3.  We have to begin to function
 2 Cor 3:5-6 – our sufficency is not in me but in him.  The letter (legalism) kills but the spirit that gives life.

 You are God’s masterpiece – he has a purpose and plan for your life.   In the name of Jesus we take some authority – dominion
 1John 4:4 – you are not of the world little children and have overcome… because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. – you dont’ need to be fearful, ignorant.  Understanding the times – 1Chron 12:32 – God always has what you need (if you are God’s person)

 2 Corth 1:3-4 – the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.  He comforts usin all our difficulties (tribulation) – that we may be able to comfort those who are iany trouble (our part)…
